We've changed, but not too much....

…We are still the same foil obsessed, performance driven craftsmen developing leading edge boards  from the best materials available. But we’ve changed our name…

…again

After selling SIC in 2012 we changed our brand name for custom foil boards to Flying Dutchman, but we continued to work as a consultant creating foil boards for SIC to produce in volume. This year we have broadened our relationship with SIC’s parent company, Tahe, and as part of that broader relationship, we agreed to change our brand name to SIC by JungleWRX and will continue to provide SIC with foil board designs suitable for volume production. We will continue to design, build, and sell custom boards here on Maui branded as SIC by JungleWRX.

We have also resolved our bottleneck in producing custom boards and are now accepting reservations for new customers. The same great quality, the same innovative design, the same customization to suit your needs precisely. But we are now capable of producing two boards a week, so our backlog is shrinking. It may still be several months after you make your $100 deposit before your turn comes, but it’s a much quicker process now.  Make sure we have accurate contact information (email and phone) for you by emailing your information to mark@oneflyingdutchman.com. If that information changes please remember to  update us. When your turn comes up in the queue we will talk with you to update your requirements and build exactly the board that suits you.

Why Buy A Custom Board from SIC by JungleWRX

There are good reasons why many of the most accomplished foilers in the world buy custom boards from us. First of all, the better you are, the more the board matters. Beginners often think that board choice isn’t important because once you are up on the foil, the board isn’t in the water. If nothing else, your board determines what foil you can use. A more efficient board makes it easier to use a smaller, faster foil.  Once you’re in the air, the swing weight, the rigidity of the board to foil connection, and the overall balance become critical.

Our boards use the lightest, tightest construction methods available:

  • High-end carbon, kevlar, and S-glass.
  • Rubber-fortified epoxy that mitigates dings in thin laminates)
  • All boards are vacuum bagged to yield a high fiber-to-resin matrix ratio.
  • Fiber weaves are precisely angled for maximum strength and  maximum impact resistance.
  • They work: I spend a lot of time on the water testing them.
  • They’re beautiful: Besides functionality, boards ought to look good.
  • Rigid where it matters: Riders testing our boards frequently comment on how solid they feel. That’s part layup, part is our cassette construction which extends bottom-to-deck. You stand on the cassette, and the foil feedback is direct. No play.
  • Best quality US-made polycarbonate fin boxes.
  • Balanced design: Front and rear foot pressure is the same to make riding comfortable and controlled.
  • Value: My base price for a full carbon DW board with all the above features is competitive.
  • Experience: 40 years of high-end composite construction experience.
  • Precision and Consistency: Our designs are digitized and CNC milled. Volumes are precise as is rocker. Inboxes are routed by the CNC, precisely straight fore and aft, side to side.
  • Passion: I still love building boards. Love foiling. I put in 100% towards my craftsmanship.
