Board Design Information

Thanks for your interest in SIC by JungleWRX. Here is a series of short videos to help you specify how I will build your board and how to select the options that are available.

This first video covers the deck configuration for your board. Here you’ll choose how you want the footstrap mounts to be located, choose a Tuttle or track foil mount, and decide on handles and other deck accessories

Once you’ve decided on your deck layout, it’s time to choose your color options.

The volume of your board is a crucial decision, usually based on your weight, intended use, and skill level. One liter of volume will support about 1 kilogram of weight (2.2 pounds) so if you weigh 86 kilograms (190 pounds) an 85-liter board will have its deck awash. That’s fine for a highly skilled rider, especially if the use is wingfoiling, and you’ll probably want to go smaller than wingfoil volume for a prone foilboard, but an intermediate rider that wants to be able to stand on the board in chop is going to want more volume.

Handle type is both a matter of personal preference and location. For wingboards, and even some SUP foilboards, we frequently put handles on the bottom of the board so that when you are carrying the board the foil is pointed away from your wing and your body. It’s your choice.

To chine or not to chine. The rail chines help the board release and let you bank into turns without dragging a rail. A deep chine on the tail decreases drag when you’re pumping and lets you angle the board up as you come up on foil. But every choice is a compromise. Chines decrease stability and buoyancy. This video explains why you may or may not want them.

The construction of SIC by JungleWRX boards is both light and strong. Here’s why

Flying Dutchman Board Ordering Information

Each board is made to order, so it is important that you order what you want and provide me with the details. The attached order form/work sheet is what I will use to build your board, so please make sure it is accurate.

You can expect lead-time to be about 3 months. This changes often depending on orders in the queue, so be sure to ask about lead time when you order

To be added to the production schedule a deposit of $100 is required. Click here to make your deposit. Once your deposit is received you will be put on the schedule, and I will provide an approximate delivery time.

If you have additional questions, please send me an email. You’re welcome to call and discuss your order or your ideas as well. I can’t guarantee I will remember to make changes communicated by Facebook, text, phone, or social media–because I have the memory capacity of a squirrel. The Board Order worksheet is what we refer to during the construction of your board. Make sure it is accurate and represents exactly what you are looking for. If you want to add an option or make a change, please select a Change Order worksheet to make changes.

If you have already submitted a Board Order worksheet and want to make a change that I’ll actually remember to do, submit a Change Order. Remember, if you talk to me in the water, on the beach or in a bar, text me, write something on social media, or send a carrier pigeon the liklihood that it will actually get done is small–memory capacity of a squirrel–or maybe a mongoose. Send me a change order form and it will likely get done. I hope.

If you want to discuss anything feel free to contact us here. If we need to have a phone call I’ll be glad to call you. I don’t put my phone number on the website because it’s an invitation to get those fun phone calls from people selling extended warranties for my ten-year-old worthless truck.

You can change your mind or add options to your boards up until I start production on the board. Once production starts NO changes can be made.

To be sure of your requirements, I will confirm the worksheet with you prior to starting production. Production time is about 3- 4 weeks.

Remember – NO changes once production starts.

Types of Boards: The foil boards I currently make are Prone, SUP, Windsurf, Wing Foil, and hybrid versions that are a combination of these.

Prone <65 l. < 24” width $1200
Prone/Wingfoil 40-65 l. $1500
WingFoil 66-85 l. $1800

All boards are custom-made for you at Junglewrx in Upcountry Maui, a state of the art production facility. All boards are Carbon, Kevlar, S-glass sandwiched and all lamination is done through a vacuum bag process yielding high fiber to resin ratio, resulting in low weight with high impact strength.

*Adding options or additional features are all extra charges and will add to the cost shown above.

Options Available on Full Custom Boards

For Full Custom boards, you have the ability to pick a deck shape. The deck can either be domed, flat or contoured. Additionally, the design and shape can be tailored to your physical size and location where you ride.

For ALL Boards the following options are available: Graphics

My typical graphics look is shown in the gallery. Colors are established by mixing a pigment or dye in the final hot coat of your board. The base color of your board is either white or grey. One color panel is $125 extra, two-color panels are $150

Pad

Pad Colors choices are light grey or black

Handle

Handle choices are inverted slot SUP style, external webbing or EZ Grab. Webbing is easier to grab. Slot has a cleaner look. Handles add +$75.00. Due to its size, the EZ Grab handle is only recommended installed on the bottom.

Foil Mount

Tracks are the more versatile option and I would suggest using them, but I have options available.

The options are:
Foil Tracks

Tuttle Box

BOTH – Called the Dual System*

* If you order the dual system, there is a $200 surcharge and your board weight will increase by 1.2 lbs.

Straps

If you would like straps, I suggest my standard placed 5-hole adjustable insert option. Adjustable inserts are; $25.00 per insert, straps are $25.00 each.

If you have special placement wishes, please accurately sketch it out, take a picture of the sketch, and email this to me, I will then provide you a cost for this special setup.

Vents

I recommend automatic vents instead of manual–It’s easy to leave a manual vent open and get water in your board.

– GoreTex Vent/ standard: $40
– XL Gore-Tex Vent (recommended for any board over 100 liters or any board with dark colors): $100

Note: Leave any of these auto-breathing Vents in place. Only loosen vent prior to airline travels.

Windsurf

If you would like the option of using your board for Windsurfing, I can add a windsurf mast track. This option adds +$100.00 to the board cost.

FOILS

SIC by JungleWRX is proud to offer foils by Axis. All parts are interchangeable. They are well engineered, user friendly and have sturdy connections. Some of the best Maui riders are riding these.

Check out their site at https://live2kite.com/collections/axis-foils and let me know if you like to consider include Axis in your quiver.
